06.09.2007: Scott and Melissa's Engagement

Congratulations to Scott and Melissa!!! They will finally be tying the knot on the weekend of October 20th (it's a very special number to the bride-to-be). We went around Town Lake and Downtown Austin for their e-session - driving around, chatting (you guys know how I roll...ha ha!). So, during the e-session, there were several weddings that we accidentally crashed. Okay, we actually got trapped and had to go the scenic route back to the car to avoid the two weddings not even 100 yards apart from one another. And since everyone (especially staff/employees) were preoccupied, we got to hijacked a couple of chairs and hammocks for pictures. Score. Oh yeah, Melissa taught me a new word. Vomitose. Melissa saw a dead bird on the steps at one of the area we were taking pictures at. She described it as VOMITOSE. I averted my eyes - so I am going to have to take her word on this being quite vomitose. Scott and Melissa, thanks for driving me around (esp. through the meaningless traffic/construction). And thanks for building my vocabulary. By the way, I tried Dos Salsas tonight. Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey wedding blog stalkers! (j/k) Hali and I will be out at the Bridal Show in Downtown Austin this weekend at the Palmer Event Center - http://www.austinweddings.com/bridex.shtml starting at noon. Actually, Deidre and Jejuan is getting married that day, so I will only be there for the first few hours but Hali is staying all day! Anyways, if you gals have nothing to do, I know that your guy would absolutely LOVE to attend this show! Trust me on this - taking your guy to a wedding show will cement your relationship :) Anyways, we will be taking 2008 wedding dates at our 2007 package price :) I better see all you gals/guys out there on Sunday! (Mariae & Hali)

06.03.2007: Ray and Nadia's Engagement

Congratulations to Ray and Nadia!! I met with them Sunday in Galveston and we just strolled, talked..and I might have taken a picture or two. Ray and Nadia have been together 10 years!! Actually not so uncommon, I had a few couples who has been together that long...these couple just want to make sure they're marrying the right one...or they could be just lazy with the wedding planning. (I speak from experience, my husband and I were together for about 8 years before we got married). Of course, couples who has stuck together for that long act completely different than an engaged couples who have been dating for a year or two and are getting married. For one..there's less to zero kissing. There's more nagging. And all the groom has to do is show up at the wedding (and hopefully on time). On another note, Marie who went with me, took a "behind the scene" look at me at work. I posted it below. HA HA. I think we were just chatting here and I don't even have the camera up to eye level. Ray and Nadia, Sunday was sooo much fun and Nadia, I hope I didn't make you tooo unproductive this week :)

06.02.2007: Shannen and Thomas

Ceremony: Houston First Baptist Church
Reception: Glass Palace
After Crystle and Miguel exited their reception to get ready for their honeymoon at 4pm - we hi-tailed out of Bella Terraza and headed straight to Houston First Baptist Church to cover Shannen and Thomas's wedding. When we got there, the bride was still at hair and makeup and had not arrived yet (yay! we're early - but in case our morning wedding ran over, we had Hali and Vince come out to the church to cover the getting ready until we arrived!) Well, since all four of us was there with cameras, everyone stayed for the ceremony and we really did get "full coverage" of all angles of the ceremony! So, I have to give you guys a little backstory to Shannen and Thomas wedding. I first met Shannen and Thomas at their engagement session about three weeks ago. Just a few days earlier, they had decided to get married. That's right - one month ago. This entire wedding was planned in one month!! The bride's brother mentioned he found about about the wedding 2 weeks ago. Doh! We knew before he did! I don't recommend this one month strategy to everybody...but Shannen and Thomas really pulled it off!! Congratulations Shannen and Thomas :) (~Mariae, Paul, Hali & Vince)

06.02.2007: Crystle and Miguel

Ceremony: Bella Terraza
Reception: Bella Terraza
This Saturday, we had our first "back to back" wedding. (Not doublebooked..literally back to back.) The morning started out for us at 8am to head down to Bella Terraza by 9 for Crystle and Miguel's wedding. Crystle got held up by hair and makeup and show up a "wee" bit late (but she looked beautiful...so that's all that matters). Well, as usual with all of Pink Posh's outdoor weddings - the rain clouds came in but Crystle was going to go for an outdoor wedding - rain or shine. Well, it shined (of course...for my regulars aka blogstalker - you know that it always shine come time for the ceremony! Not saying that we have any control over the weather.....) Well onto the notables - a Martha Stewart worthy pink and brown wedding affair. The bride and groom recessing from the ceremony to "HALLELUJAH!" Two "father/daughter" dances. Bride and groom doing the "robot" on the dance floor - I hope you realize you just dated yourself right then! The Chicken Dance. The Hokey Pokey. Was the Wiggles there too? Oh yeah, Crystle who is a kindergarten teacher, literally had to "work" on her wedding day. I glanced around to her one time and saw her pulling three kids off of each other. Anyways, Crystle and Miguel - enjoy the honeymoon and thanks for the 3:45pm exit :) (~Mariae & Paul)
