Ceremony: The Gallery
Venue: Kim Son Ballroom
Ammy and Quang tied the knot this weekend and I am going to give them the award for showing the most school spirit at a wedding - if we did ever give one out. Ex-longhorn(ers?), their entire wedding color/theme was done in UT Austin school colors. The bride wore a Longhorn garter belt, the bridemaids wore orange...and you know you got a true friend when one of them (an ex-Aggie) would wear Longhorn colors, even though it was obviously very painful for her. They even had the groom's cake shaped into a building..yeps, the UT Tower. In typical fashion (well Asian fashion) the Remy Martin flowed freely, risque games were invented for the bride and groom to play for their wedding gifts (images were way to risque for posting on a PG rated blog) and in very un-typical Asian fashion was a one-man band/show/concert/wedding singer who played guitar, drums, danced and belted out songs from Weezer, Beatles, Outkast, Michael Jackson, Prince, and even Gwen Stefani. All he missed was Culture Club's Do You Really Want To Hurt Me. Congrats guys and we can't wait for you guys to start a family of little Longhorners. (~Mariae, Hali & Paul)

11.19.2006: Chris and Stephanee's Engagement
Even though I didn't get to shoot their engagement session (remember the sprained foot from the night before?), but I am going to blog about it. Hali and Paul covered this session for me and I know they all felt I was there hobbling about in spirit. I know Chris and Steph may have thought that I made up the whole "injury" to get out of the engagement session...and...they're right (j/k). Good thing too, because I learned later of the couple's nefarious plans of derailing trains from getting to the sugar plant, breaking the law with indecent exposure while in a moving vehicle, and who knows what else. Anyways, I was really sad I missed it, but be sure I'mma be there on St. Paddy's day...maybe...unless I suffer another injury. Enjoy the peeks guys! :)

11.11.2006: Amiee and Kevin
Reception: Lakeway Resort and Spa
Amiee and Kevin (and Mia!) threw a beautiful wedding on Saturday. The bride did an amazing job coordinating all the details - custom labeled beer, water bottles, sparklers, sweets, and rhinestone encrusted bouquets! - and she did everything from out of state! Amiee bought sexy back (yes, I know this phase is overused, but it definitely applies here) in her Watters gown and double tiara. Her little "mini-me" was just too adorable in her brown cowboy boots and definitely made the wedding so much fun to shoot. They had a chocolate brown and pink theme affair, with the groom looking smashing in his brown pin-striped suit. And of course, how can you not love a bride who had a pink center stone engagement ring (Amiee, welcome to the club!). And the piece-de-resistance - I finally got a chance to exit with the bride and groom in their get-away golf cart. What fun!!! Congrats Amiee and Kevin!!!

11.04.2006: Meredith and Alberto
Ceremony: The Courtyard
Reception: The Backyard
This past Saturday we attended our first house wedding!! I came to the grounds of the house, while it was still in disarray but in an hour or so, Lee and his team at Le Jardiniere florist completely transformed the charming home to a very elegant wedding venue. We had just shot their engagement session the week before so I was really looking forward to their wedding since they had such naturalness with the camera. The day started with massages, mimosas and champagne. The bride, of course, looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful lace wedding gown by Priscilla. The groom picked her up after the ceremony and carried the bride over the threshold (a first for Pink Posh). And by the end of the night, after love songs serenades, cake pulls, a birthday party in the midst, and some James Brown and Marvin Gaye...wait, no Village People? I have to admit that I am sad they were unrepresented on Saturday night - but the police did make a special appearance that night (no, not the guy who dressed up as a police in the band)...we are talking HPD. That, ladies and gentlemen is the mark of a great house wedding.
