JeJuan and Deidre's Engagement

Congratulations to JeJuan and Deidre! They've made 8..oh, and they are getting married in June :) I met with them yesterday for their engagement session. We went to Dunvegan - Deidre is OBSESSED with this place and I think JeJuan may have liked the place had it not been for the 20 feet hornets/wasps creatures that were attacking everyone but Deidre. Soooo, for their pictures, I decided to put them in super cheesy romantic poses which I told them won't look cheesy...HOPEFULLY!!! HA HA. (But really... only your wedding photographer will want to photograph cheesy romantic kissy face stuffs. Trust me, your friends won't want to do it. Just ask Megan! :oP) Deidre and JeJuan, congratulations again. Oh, and just a few things I need to say to JeJuan: remember, I didn't turn you into Huck Finn. AND, pleeeeeeasssse try to get famous soon, so I can start selling these pictures to the tabloids! See you guys in June!

04.28.2007: Kristin and Colin

Ceremony: St. Mary's Catholic Church
Reception: Heimsath Farm

This weekend we covered Kristin and Colin's wedding in Fayetteville, Texas! I walked into the hall where the girls were getting hair/makeup done while listening to a mixture of musicals! (I heart musicals so to hear this playing when I first walked in was a sure indication that the wedding was going to be a blast!). The girls sang to RENT and Avenue Q, while getting their makeup done - and I have to say that their makeup artist(s) was so patient with them (especially when they paused in the makeup application so the girls can belt out a line from Rent - I would have probably tore my hair out in frustration! :oP). So, Kristin and Colin decided to do a "first meeting" before the ceremony and since they left me in charge of the meeting, I chose the longest pathway I could find for the bride to walk down to see her husband-to-be. It was a really sweet sight, even though Kristin was practically trying not to run down the lane toward Colin who I made turn his back (this was inspired by last Sunday's wedding) so that he wouldn't see her until his best man turned him around. So onto my list of notables from the wedding day: Colin walked Kristin down the aisle. Let me rephrase that in case you didn't get the significance of that last statement. The Groom walked the Bride down the aisle. Interactive sermon. A mini-concert in the middle of the wedding ceremony. Ringing of the bells - church bells and dinner bell. The groom dancing with the family dog. And the piece de resistance -the groom piggybacking his bride out to the car during the exit. Kristin and Colin, congratulations..and yes, this does mean you are grown up now. :) (~Mariae, Hali & Paul)

04.22.2007: April and Brenden

Ceremony: Town Green Park

Reception: Waterway Marriott
The morning of April and Brenden's wedding, I flew into Houston from Dallas - freshened up and proceeded to the Waterway Marriott - where the bride was not at. Okay, rewind. I called the bride and she tells me she's in the ballroom with the white curtains. I see white curtains - but there's no bridal party in there. Wooops! Wrong Marriott! Turns out they were just a few blocks away from where all the girls were getting their sexy on. (Check out the pictures, these girls are gorgeous and soooooooooo much fun!). At 4:55pm, the girls and I pile into the shuttle (to the Waterway) to take the Water Taxi to the ceremony site. At 4:58, I get a phone call from my other photographer asking if the bride was on the way yet (meaning, in the water taxi). The guys were all lined up at the altar. All the guests have been seated and everyone was waiting. Double oops. We were still driving to the hotel! We got to the hotel exactly at 5pm (the time that the ceremony is to start) and didn't leave on the water taxi until 5:12pm (because the coordinator was getting the bouquets!). When we got there, the boys were still at the altar with the couple's dog - and the groom's back was turned away so he wouldn't accidentally see the bride until she came down the steps. (So Sweet!!). The bride's uncle officiated the ceremony and when they were announced as husband and wife, Brenden dipped April for their first kiss! (I HEART DIPS)!! Afterwards, everyone headed to the Waterway Marriott to "GET DOWN" (seriously, it said that on the itinerary from 7pm to 11pm) - and let's say that it was such a blast that I'm going to dedicate an entire blog to it. Watch out for it later this week. April and Brenden, thanks for an amazzzzzzzzzzzzinnnnnnnnnnng time! (~Mariae and Billy with Cherish Moments Photography)

04.21.2007: Patsy and Jonathan

Ceremony: Holy Trinity Church

Reception: Kirin Court
The weekend started up in Dallas for Patsy and Jonathan's wedding. They had a beautiful touching ceremony at Holy Trinity where the bride got dressed in the "Fallout Shelter." Really, there was a radioactive symbol below the words "Fallout Shelter." They then held a cozy lunch at the cafe across the street after the ceremony for all the guests - so the guests can have some food in their stomach before the appetizers and dinner. (There was alot of eating!) There was a little bit of downtime so we went back to the couple's hotel for some pictures before heading over to Kirin Court. Some notables: The bride trying to track down her passport so she can go on her honeymoon (today!). Patsy and Jonathan cutting into the "fake" layer of the cake for a good 3 minutes (I didn't want to tell them they were cutting the wrong layer so we could have ample time for cake cutting pictures!). Patsy and Jonathan, We LOVE you guys!!! I hope you were able to go on your honeymoon! (~Mariae, Hali and Paul)
