Pink Posh Just Because: Kevin and Melissa

Well, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I had three shoots this past weekend while I was in Dallas. My very last one of the weekend was a not quite engaged session for Kevin and Melissa. At first I was stumped on what to call this session. Several of my friends suggested calling it a "Take a Hint" session - but I decided after long thought that this was a perfect "Just Because" session. Kevin and Melissa have been dating for five years now and she mentioned that they never had pictures professionally (ha ha - I'm a professional! Woohoo!) taken yet. I was thrilled she asked me because we totally clicked when we first met! (Stalkers, if you're trying to figure out why Melissa looks familiar, she was one of the bridesmaid at Piper and Tony's wedding). We went back and forth a while about the kind of "look" she wanted for the session -mainly something very modern and structural (she's a graphic designer after all!) so where should we end up but at Tribute Golf Course - which replicates some of the most famous link courses in Scotland. Not quite modern right? But Kevin loves golf so it worked out after all! Melissa, be thankful you do not have an 8 foot golf net in the middle of your living room...and your living room sofa in your dining room - YET. Kevin and Melissa - what an interesting Sunday right? Animals in the rough. Dodging tournament players. Sinking in the mud. And finally sitting in the middle of the only exit out of the golf club. You guys rock. We should do this again sometime! :)

02.23.2008: John and Gracel's Engagement Session

So, after Quyen Nhi's senior session, I met up with John and Gracel for their e-session. This was the very first time that I have ever met them. Gracel found out about us online and she drove 5 hours (I only had to drive a measly 3 hours) for this e-session! That's serious dedication. :) So being that I was not familiar at all with the Dallas area landscape, we ended up walking around for several hours looking for a place that happened to be just right across the street from us. You know the lame part? I had a GPS in my bag and I never thought once about using it. But we did end up finding some really cool places along the way - so it was all worth it! :) John and Gracel thanks for the delicious dinner. See you guys in August! :) By the way - a fun fact: John and Gracel are actually going to be tying the knot the same day Hali got married!

Pink Posh Seniors: Quynh Nhi

This past weekend I was up in Dallas for a senior session, an engagement session, and a not quite engaged session? Are you wondering what sort of session a not quite engaged session is? You'll have to check back later this week to read about it. On Saturday morning, one of our former brides (actually Pink Posh's official first bride ever - so early in the game that she's not even on our blog! I may have to correct that later on) brought her niece over for a senior session. There was no plans or any clues/ideas where to go (that's normally the case, but it's especially harder on me since I don't live in Dallas and we were just wandering around at some point.). There was one location that was really interesting - but we barely drove in - got stopped by a man in a big silver mercedes and asked us what we were doing. Just looping around sir..whooops. So we headed over to a little shopping square area for Quyen Nhi's session and while there, I saw this cute little mod mexican cafe (yes, sounds weird) that had gorgeous natural light filtering in. Yes. I love yummy light. All photographers do. :oP We finally finished up her session in the median of a busy road. Don't judge me :oP Quynh Nhi, congratulations on graduation and thanks for going along with everything :)

02.19.2008: Nick, Huong and Samaira

I just realized that I needed to blog this before the weekend because I have three shoots this weekend and need blog space!!! On Tuesday, Nick, Huong and Samaira met up with me in Austin. They drove down from College Station and can I say Nick is one lucky guy. He got himself TWO gorgeous ladies all to himself. :) Their wedding is coming up during the crazy hot month of July - thank goodness for central air! They asked for pictures with them and Samaira as well as just some by themselves. Not problem - except that Samaira is only 1.5 years old and she sorta don't care that a photography session is going on! She did pretty good though - even though she never wanted to stand next to her parents in pictures; ran off after I positioned her; climbed onto chairs next to her parents, when it was time for their solo shoot; stood up when I wanted her to sit and sat when I wanted her to stand. That's pretty good for a 1.5 year old whirlwind right? Nick+Huong - I can't wait to see what she does at the wedding! :)
