Congratulations to Nathan and Amy! They are getting married in September and I have a super-long Blog coming up because alot of stuff happened during this e-session! Nathan and Amy picked me up in a big black MONSTER truck and headed straightaway to H-E-B. Not for grocery shopping. Nathan and Amy first met here and wanted to get a few pictures in front of it. (I've seen movies where people have met in the grocery stores...I didn't realize it actually worked!) After H-E-B, we headed down to the Capital, where the goal was to get a picture of Nathan, Amy, the truck and the capital in one shot. Challenging..yes, since police officers blocked each entrance. So, I drew from a recent shoot where a truck was involved and was able to get the shot using...yups, the truck's MONSTER mirrors! Next on Nathan's and Amy's list - the Austin skyline. Alot tougher than you would think to find a really good place to get the skyline...well something that hasn't been done at least! So, Amy led us to a possible location on top of a parking garage. So........we get there and the truck barely made the height clearance. (Nathan drove with his head outside the window checking the roof of the truck.) Once inside, the height clearance wasn't the actual height clearance...and we couldn't move any further without taking off the truck's roof. Of course, this backed up the traffic in the lot...especially when Nathan came out and started taking the air out of the tires. Oh boy. So after much maneuvering...maybe some swear words (from me!)...we were able to exit and continue on with the search for the perfect skyline! I took them to a location that had a nice view of the skyline...and we took some pictures - but it still wasn't quite the skyline Amy had in mind. So, we talked it over a bit and recalled a skyline not too far away..and headed there. Luck of luck, we made it there without incident and got a view of the gorgeous Austin skyline at night. And to top off the night, we ended at the Alamo Drafthouse where they had their first kiss (AWWWWWW) where the neons were turned off since it was almost closing time - but after much pleading the employees there were kind enough to turn on the neon nights just for them! Nathan and Amy, that was quite an adventure last night and thanks for the yummy dinner!!!!
