This past Saturday we kicked off our Fall 2007 wedding season. Yes, I know it's still summer, but we'll have weddings almost completely back to back until November! And what a kick off!!! Sunny and Wes - who lives in New York - had a destination wedding in Austin. The theme - BBQ and Cowboys!! (Actually, the bride was originally from Texas and definitely did not lose her Texas roots even after moving to New York!) What a blast their wedding turned out to be. Guests wouldn't even leave at the end of the night! The day started at the Omni with a bridal breakfast in honor of Sunny. Yups, that means she gets presents TWICE in one day! Lucky girl :) But besides the gifts, I knew Sunny and Wes must have been something special to their guests, because I think maybe ONE out of 100 guests were actually from Austin - everyone else either drove in or flew down for their Texas destination wedding :) So onto the notables of the day - and there's many! Two Texas sized buses shuttled guests from the hotel to the church back to the hotel then to the reception back to the hotel! The bride walked down the aisle dressed in a gorgeous wedding gown, custom made veil and...cowboy boots!!! Mother of the groom telling me that morning that her son married the woman of her dreams (awww!!!). Standing chandeliers made from beer bottles; cowboy boots filled with fresh flowers; cowhide inspired table linens; and the sweetest yellow daisy wedding cake! At the reception, guests changed into their "cowboy" clothes (bride and groom included) and enjoyed nonstop dancing all night long and amazing bbq :) Sunny and Wes, amazing, amazing, amazing Saturday :) YEE-HA!! :) (~Mariae & Paul)
