12.29.2007: Hollie and Jake

Ceremony: Grace Episcopal Church
Reception: Garten Verein
On Saturday, December 29th, Hollie and Jake helped us close out the year by throwing an amazing New Orleans style wedding! We've shot approximately 50 weddings in 2007, and can I say what a fabulous way to end the year. The night before the wedding, I had a dream that I was at the wrong reception site and missed part of the wedding (yes, I too dream about your wedding day!!). Needless to say, I doublechecked, triplechecked all the addresses to make sure we were at where we needed to be! I shouldn't have worried. The entire day was either on time or early! We had a ton of time to shoot pictures of the girls (separately) and the boys (separately.). Hollie wore a beautiful gown (it's from the same designer as my wedding gown). Yes, great minds think alike! So onto the notables! Teeth! Hollie is a teacher (as is Jake) and she says she always makes her kids show teeth in pictures and she wanted teeth in her wedding pics. Of course, I relayed it to Jake that his bride wanted teeth - and he was more than happy to comply! The 2nd Line! This was our first time capturing the 2nd Line - how fun are the feather trimmed umbrellas?!! Bouquet and Garter toss - the recipients of both are actually getting married two days after Hollie and Jake. Yes, it does work. Maybe not as quickly as two days, but it does work! Yummy 9 hours pralines and a hundred year old sixpence! Hollie and Jake - congratulations. What a great way to end the year and begin a new year than with each other. Thanks for letting us share it with you guys :) (~Mariae & Vince.)
